What is a vertical rebar bending center and when is it used?

Quick answer: a vertical rebar bending center bends rebar in a vertical plane, which lets it produce complex closed shapes — bridge piers, stirrup cages, hooked and multi-radius bars — that a flat bender cannot. Our GDLWZX-32 handles Ø10–32 mm at bend angles from −120° to 180° with ±1° accuracy.

Why vertical: because the bar hangs vertically during bending, gravity holds long and heavy bars in place, and the two bending heads (4.4 kW each) work both sides of the bar simultaneously. This is what makes it accurate on long bars where a horizontal bender would sag.

When to use it: choose a vertical center when your work is heavy cages, piers and columns rather than simple stirrups. It is a specialist machine — for plain stirrups a stirrup bender is cheaper and faster.
