Rebar Bending Machine Price: What Really Determines the Cost
Rebar Bending Machine Price: What Really Determines the Cost
When buyers request a quote for a rebar bending machine, the first question is almost always the same: "What is the price?" The honest answer is that two machines can look nearly identical in a catalogue photo and still differ by thousands of dollars. This article breaks down the five factors that actually move the number — diameter, CNC control, number of heads, brand and after-sales support — using real Gongda models from China Rebar Machinery so you can compare quotes on equal terms.
1. Bending Diameter: The Single Biggest Cost Driver
Capacity is the first thing to fix in any specification, because steel force scales with the square of bar diameter. A machine rated for 50mm rebar does not simply cost "a bit more" than a 25mm unit — it needs a heavier frame, larger hydraulic components and a more powerful motor.
- GJZD6-50CZ CNC bending machine — handles up to 50mm with a 420mm working table.
- GJZD6-65CZ — same platform, upgraded to 65mm capacity for heavy civil and bridge work.
- GW25 CNC single-head stirrup bender — round steel up to 25mm, the workhorse size for most precast and rebar shops.
- ZD-6M-25 / ZD-6M-20 — five-head stirrup machines rated at 25mm and 20mm respectively.
Practical advice: specify the largest bar you will bend more than a few times per month, not the largest bar you might encounter once. Buying 65mm capacity to bend 32mm bars daily means paying for hydraulic headroom you never use.
2. CNC Control vs. Manual and Semi-Automatic
CNC adds cost in three places: the controller, the servo drives and the programming software. The payoff is repeatability and labour reduction, which matters most when you produce many different bend shapes in small batches.
- GDWQ4-15A CNC rebar forming machine — single or double line operation, suited to high-volume cut-and-bend production.
- GDLWZX-32 vertical bending center (32mm) and GDPMW-60 plane bending center (60mm) — these are positioning-and-bending centres rather than simple benders, and they sit at the top of the price range.
- SKDZWH-36 / GDWHWQ-36 CNC arc benders (36mm) and GWH50CG / GWH50CZN arc bending machines (50mm) — CNC arc control is essential for tunnel linings, ring beams and curved bridge sections.
If your output is 90% one or two standard stirrup shapes, a manual or semi-automatic machine plus a GQ50A or GQ70A cutter is often the better financial decision. The GQ70A delivers 160 tons of shear force, and the GQ50A cuts 6–50mm round / 6–36mm ribbed bar — both are simple, robust and inexpensive to maintain.
3. Number of Bending Heads and Spindles
Each additional bending head adds a servo axis, a mechanical assembly and control complexity. That is why a five-head stirrup machine such as the ZD-6M-25 costs significantly more than the single-head GW25 — but it can also replace several single-head machines and their operators.
Do the arithmetic before choosing: if a five-head machine doubles throughput but costs 2.5× a single-head unit, the single-head machine wins unless you are running two or three shifts. For buyers adding a complete line, pair the bender with a GDQX-500 hydraulic rebar shearing production line and a YGT4-15A straightening and cutting machine (4–15mm, VFD-controlled) to balance capacity across the whole workflow — an unbalanced line wastes money on every station.
4. Brand, Build Quality and Certification
Brand premium is real, but so is build quality. Gongda machines are manufactured in Hefei, Anhui, with the factory rooted in the electromechanical works of Hefei University of Technology — a background that shows up in the gearboxes, hydraulic manifolds and controller integration rather than in a logo.
For export buyers, certification affects landed cost. EAC certification is available for Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union, which avoids customs delays and re-testing fees at destination. If you are importing into Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia or Africa, confirm the voltage, frequency and safety configuration at the quotation stage — retrofitting a machine after arrival costs far more than specifying it correctly up front.
5. After-Sales Support: The Hidden Line Item
A cheap machine with no spare parts channel is the most expensive purchase in the shop. When comparing quotes, ask these questions in writing:
- Are wear parts (bending pins, dies, shear blades, hydraulic seals) stocked and how fast can they ship?
- Is the CNC controller documented in English, with a parameter backup?
- Is remote commissioning support included, and what response time is guaranteed?
- Are consumables for the wider range — HGS-40 thread rolling machine, GD-350ZD band saw, ZDTHJ-12 automatic spring making machine, NB-350 and NB-500 MIG/CO2 welders — available from the same supplier?
Buying the bender, cutter, thread roller and welder from one source reduces freight cost, simplifies spare parts and gives you a single point of accountability when something stops.
How to Get an Accurate Quote
To receive a comparable price rather than a placeholder number, send your supplier: maximum bar diameter and steel grade, the bend shapes and batch sizes, required output per shift, voltage and frequency at your site, and destination port. With those five details, a quotation can be firm.
